The Surrounding Area

This well maintained apartment is situated in South Amsterdam (Amsterdam-Zuid). The location is ideal, because it is situated near the center of Amsterdam, but also near the expressway to Schiphol Airport, Utrecht, Amersfoort and Den Haag and Rotterdam. Within a few minutes walk there are plenty of nice shops. It is very easy to reach the famous Beethovenstraat (The Opera House) and the very upscale shopping district of P.C. Hooftstraat.

One of the national treasures located in the heart of Amsterdam is Vondel Park, which is located within a few minutes jog from the apartment. Here you can find here a variety of 4400 incredible trees, representing 127 different species. Many native trees, but also beautiful exotic trees. Visitors come to enjoy the tranquility and the silence of the park, and many others visit the park to watch or take part in the sporting events, games, roller blading, acrobatics or afternoon concerts or to attend cultural events at the open theater (Openluchttheater) and film museum (Filmmuseum) or just to enjoy drinks and food on the restaurant terraces. The park is also a short cut through to the shopping district of the P.C. Hooftstraat and to the Leidseplein, the heart and the dating centre of Amsterdam. Trams are very affordable and provide easy transport around the city, stopping at all the major sites.

The apartment block "Schouwenhoeck"

A stylish building, constructed around 1930.The building are designed in the architectural style of the "Amsterdamse school". The apartment block is situated on the corner of the Apollolaan and the Olympiaplein. The cityscape is very typical for those times and together with the beautiful plane trees it looks like a picture from ancient times. The area has a vintage atmosphere.
